Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy 2016-10-27T23:52:08+00:00

This Privacy Policy explains our ethical commitments, data management practices, and all other measures that we employ. We have written this Privacy Policy in plain language, to explain what information we collect, how we collect it, how we use it, how you can control our disclosure of it, and the security measures we employ to protect your information.

Research data collection

Anyone involved in AlterSpark research or evaluation studies will have their data protected in compliance with the Tri-council policy statement, and will have been asked for informed consent before they are included in research. Each study follows different ethical practices, which are communicated to each participant, along with guidelines on data protection.

Marketing and customer data collection

AlterSpark Corp. collects personal information about individuals for marketing and business operations purposes, in compliance with relevant policies. We use 3rd party retargeting ad services that may advertise to you when you visit other websites, however, these mechanisms do not draw from personal information that we have collected, and we do not have access to their user databases. Marketing and customer information is retained for operational purposes, and is never disclosed to third parties, except in a few cases where it is used in an anonymous aggregate format, with no personally identifying information.

As you browse alterspark.com, advertising cookies will be placed on your computer so that we can understand what you are interested in. Our display advertising partner, AdRoll, then enables us to present you with retargeting advertising on other sites based on your previous interaction with alterspark.com. The techniques our partners employ do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, postal address or telephone number. You can visit this page to opt out of AdRoll and their partners’ targeted advertising.

Storage

We store user information by electronic means in such a way as to prevent unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure or disposal of the personal information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information and data stored on our system. While no computer system is completely secure, we believe the measures we have implemented reduce the likelihood of security problems to a level appropriate to the type of data involved.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If at some point in the future, there is a change to our Privacy Policy, unless we obtain your express consent, such change will only apply to information collected after the revised Privacy Policy took effect.

Managing personal data

If you wish to have your personal information changed or deleted from our records, or opt-out of our personal communications, please send an email to [email protected] and explain what you would like us to do.
