Our two courses will give you a comprehensive understanding of digital psychology and show you a step-by-step process you can use in your next project.

Build your skills over two courses

Our educational system contains two courses that cover distinct approaches to building psychology-inspired websites, apps and campaigns.

Take either course. Or take both back-to-back for a comprehensive learning experience.

Psychology for Digital Behavior Change

Psychology for Digital Behavior Change [DBC]

This course covers the key approaches to digital behavior change, with over 50+ psychological principles, psychological design patterns and UI. You’ll learn a behavioral design process and build experience applying psychological design strategies to standard industry tools.

You have the option of bringing a challenge to class and leaving with psychology-inspired prototypes.

Emotional Design Psychology & Neuroscience

Emotional Design Psychology & Neuroscience [EDP]

This class will deepen your understanding of user perception, cognition, emotion and behavior. You’ll take a deep dive into human emotions and learn how to build emotion-targeted digital strategy for various page types, processes and marketing goals.

You’ll deepen your hands-on skills with many rounds of emotionally targeted wireframing and mini-design sprints.

Psychology-inspired design

Intuitive. Practical. Fun.

We teach behavioral science and design in a format that is easy and practical.

Although there is a lot of educational content to cover, we’ll keep your energy up by mixing formal lessons with experiential learning and hands-on exercises.

You’ll enjoy a blend of mini-modules mixed with group activities, live polling, scenario-based learning games, design challenges, and lots of teardowns.

To keep our online learning as engaging as the classroom, we run weekly LIVE tutorias with interactive exercises and a full behavioral design process.

Celebrating our 10th year, training thousands of students in small classrooms.

How We Boost Learning Outcomes

We’ve spent years finding the best ways to teach applied psychology.

Most of our content comes from scientific journals and industry best-practices.

So how do we translate complex scientific subjects into fun, intuitive, and practical training?

Here’s our approach:

Visual lessons
Instead of explaining concepts with long lectures, we use lots of visuals to explain ideas. Our slides and handouts are largely infographics built from scientific studies.
Experiential learning

We don’t just tell you about psychological concepts. Whenever possible, you’ll experience them. Seeing is believing. There’s no better way to make the principles stick.

Personal projects

You’re invited to bring any project to the class, then develop prototypes as we coach you through our behavioral design process. The more you invest in the project, the more you’ll get out of the class.

Simulated learning games

Thanks to  Dr. Chandross, we developed several learning games and exercises to help our students acquire skills and judgment faster than traditional teaching methods. Best of all, they’re extremely fun.

Science-inspired improv

Not many people realize it, but science-inspired design is fun and creative. We use improv exercises to help our students loosen up and translate scientific concepts into all sorts of creative ideas.

Live psychometric polling

To develop more in-depth insight, we use anonymous psychometric polls, discussions about behavioral impacts, and more. Rather than telling you how people are, we’ll show you.

Bigger picture learning

People learn best when they have a mental model of the concept. Most of our training presents complex ideas as simple concepts before we dive into the details. We find this boosts comprehension and retention.

Expect the unexpected

To keep our class exciting, we keep it fun and use all sorts of crazy techniques to keep everyone engaged and focused. We won’t ruin the surprise, but expect to learn in an unanticipated way.

Design challenges

To reinforce your learning, you’ll join a series of psychology-inspired design challenges. Each challenge pushes you to use behavioral principles in different ways. It’s great learning, fun, and helps internalize the lessons.

Behavioral science software

We’ve developed software that predicts the psychological strategies needed to nudge users and flag potential backfires. You’ll use our software to get behavioral insights into your target audiences and simulate a formal lit review.

Psychological paint by numbers

We’ve converted the most popular behavior change theories into behavioral design canvases. We use these when teaching theory-based design. They’re scientific training wheels to get you rolling.

Step-by-step design process

We provide a full behavioral design workbook, along with step-by-step templates and instructions. After completing the process, you’ll have a behavioral science framework you can use on any future project.

Wireframe kit

To maintain our focus on digital applications, our wireframe kit includes most of the standard device, layout, and advertising formats. Each is in their proper proportions and any ideas you develop in class are easily adapted after.
